Dark Mode—It's Easy on Your Eyes

posted by Michael on December 17, 2019

Today's update does not change the functionality of LogSpace. Nevertheless, I think it will have a huge impact!

Today we are happy to introduce dark mode for LogSpace. It's like putting on a pair of sunglasses.

On the login page and in your settings you will find a button that will allow you to change the theme. Light mode is still available for those that prefer it. Also an automatic setting has been added that will use your platform's setting if supported by your browser. Otherwise you'll get dark mode.

Using dark mode has various use cases. According to the Material Design website, dark themes can "help improve visual ergonomics by reducing eye strain" among other benefits. Also, since the palette contains less blue light on average, it should be less likely to interfere with sleep. This is a topic that Paul recently discussed in his blog regarding sleeping schedules.

Now that LogSpace has dark mode, we think it will be an even nicer experience. This is especially true for those that will be looking at the interface a lot or would prefer to leave it open most of the day. If you haven't already signed up for LogSpace, I'd encourage you to do so and give all of our features a try—including the new dark mode!
